MY WRITER’S JOURNAL – Oct. 20/17 – Coming Together

Hi Writers. Things are really coming together today. I picked up my author’s banner just in time for my appearance at the Crazy 8 Barn in Palmyra tomorrow. At 81″ tall, it’s a little tricky to open up. Then I had a problem with it leaning. But that was only because I didn’t see the little notch I have to place the support rod into. I also opened up the little folding table I purchased recently. It was easy to set up, but I ran into a problem fitting the folding legs into the correct slots so I could carry it in one piece instead of two. Good thing I tried it all out first otherwise I would have been in a mess at my event.  I set the whole thing up to get an idea of how things will look tomorrow: Banner, table, books, bookmarks, and the book blurb in a larger format so it’s easy to read. The banner is quite impressive. I sure hope it does the job of drawing people to my table.

Had a planning meeting last night for our workshop on change. I’m learning so much from my cohorts. We did a dry run to get a feel for how things flow, timing, supplies we’ll need, even some of our actions. We’re in the process of setting everything up on a chart so it’s easy to follow. Hoping to bring in someone to help us with the marketing. We’ll continue to meet each week until we’re satified with the end result. It’s all so exciting.
