MY WRITER’S JOURNAL – Oct. 6/17 – Filling the Well
My friend and I took a little drive out to the Mary Webb Centre yesterday, not only to pay for my table for the Local Author Fair, but also to meet William Prettie, the organizer of the Fair. I must say, my friend and I were so impressed with what they’re doing there. Music, Art, now books. Classes of all kinds. A virtual art community, and so close to home. I was so excited talking to William. Turns out he’s an artist. And guess what? He’s willing to sit down and talk art with me as part of my research for my next book about — you guessed it, an artist.
We then drove back to Chatham, via Talbot Trail, along Lake Erie, to check out my October venue site, at the Crazy 8 Barn. I’ve never been there before, but they have lots of crafts, good food, and a warm welcome. I am so impressed with both places and marvel at wonderful people we met. And the fact that they are supporting local authors is wonderful. By the end of the afternoon I was so pumped. It’s just what I need sometimes — to connect with like-minded people a fill the well that gets emptied from time to time.
I’ll be at the:
